race day information

There will be plenty of marshals on the course, however, if you decide to run alongside your child, please start at the back of the race and ensure that only your child crosses the finish line. If parents/ guardians accidentally cross the line, this could affect both the results and the photos.

  • Race numbers will be collected on the day from the event HQ. Please arrive early so you have plenty of time to collect your number. Your race number (which includes your timing chip) should be visibly pinned to the front of your tee shirt or vest. Pins will be available on the day if you need them. Please ensure you complete the important safety information on the reverse of your number. If you are unable to participate, please let us know so we can remove your name from our start list. No refunds are available but if you wish to transfer your place to next year or another runner, please contact Sport Systems at least 2 weeks before the race date at:- enquiries@sportsystems.co.uk

If a race number is passed to another runner without advising the organiser or Sport Systems, the runner will be disqualified and omitted from the results.

  • We are excited to have photographer Maria Wathen Photography of The Graphic Corner at our event this year.

Please register your interest to see your photos via the link:

  • There will be water available at the finish. Please only take one cup and refill if necessary as we aim to be as environmentally friendly as possible. If you need additional water, please carry a bottle with you.

  • There is a change to UKA Rule T55 S5 regarding headphones. This means the licence standard now requires that no headphones other than bone-conducting headphones are permitted in any race where the route is shared with other users. This includes, but is not limited to, parks, seafront promenades, footpaths, bridleways, roads, and open spaces.

  • Results will be available shortly after the event on the Sport Systems website.  They will be available on this website too: https://www.eastbourneruns.co.uk

  • Medals will be available for the 1-mile junior race as the children cross the line.

  • There is limited seafront and local street parking. Not all parking is free & the parking attendants can be keen so where needed, ensure you put enough money in to cover your run time. Where possible car share, use public transport, cycle, jog or walk to the start.

  • There is a toilet block located next to the start. We recommend you bring a debit card as the council may be charging to use the facilities.

  • There will be a baggage drop next to Race HQ. Should you leave any belongings with us you do so at your own risk. Volunteers will be manning the area. We will not be held responsible for any losses.

We look forward to seeing you on race day. Please email eastbourneruns@gmail.com with any additional race day questions.

  • To raise awareness of Adelaide's genetic disorder STXBP1 and to pay for future medical treatment or therapy for her needs.
